How does the YouLift 2.0 bed work without a lifting mechanism?
The YouLift 2.0 bed does not have any spring or piston lifting assistance. The platform, which holds the mattress, is connected to the cabinet with the Alignment Hinge. You lift the platform with the strength of yourself and a partner along this guide hinge, and it nests and locks into the cabinet. This allows the YouLift bed to be more affordable and easier to assemble compared to lift-assisted beds.
While some strong individuals will be able to lift and lower the YouLift 2.0 bed by themselves, we recommend two able-bodied adults lift and lower together. The bed should not be operated by children, pregnant women, or anyone who isn’t sure about their physical ability.
How long does it take to get my YouLift 2.0 bed?

What kind of mattress do I need for the YouLift 2.0 bed?
The YouLift 2.0 bed works with any mattress up to 12" thick and as light as possible (since the YouLift 2.0 bed doesn't have a lifting mechanism).
We recommend the YouLift Mattress, the mattress we designed from scratch to be comfortable, long-lasting, and easy to lift in the YouLift bed.
How does the YouLift 2.0 bed need to be anchored to the wall?
The YouLift 2.0 bed must be securely anchored to the wall to prevent tipping. Do not use the bed if it is not anchored to the wall.
We provide wood screws for mounting into wood or metal studs, and toggle bolts for mounting into drywall. If you have another type of wall, consult a contractor or your local hardware store for the appropriate hardware.

I took a bit of a chance ordering this bed, as there is currently no free shipping to Canada, and returning the bed, if it did not work out, would require additional costs. I am very glad I took the chance. The reviews truly reflect the quality of this product. I use it daily and while heavy, I am a moderately strong person and lifting the bed each day is not a big deal. I love the look. I love the quality of materials and workmanship. I love the design. My mother recently ordered another type of murphy bed, and the Lori one is clearly superior in durability and quality of materials etc. I learned, however, that to put the bed together, you do actually have to read the instructions attentively. Note to self.

Simply put....this bed/kit/quality EXCEEDED our expectations! My husband and I out it together in a few hours.
The instructions were perfect. (I'm not sure I've uttered those words before!!!) Pre-drilled holes were in perfect alignment. Boards straight. All materials oresent.....nothing missing! They even sent a little bag of extra parts.....just in case! We never had to call for support so I can't review the support line. In a word.....there is a reason there is 3000+ 5 start reviews! Would purchase again!

Love the quality of the bed and that it is American made. Fast delivery and it came in perfect condition. It was not complicated to put together, but you need to follow the steps in order. Give yourself plenty of time, 2 people are needed for several steps. It looks great and is a great solution for my small office.

I purchased a Queen you lift bed and like it quite a lot. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is the assembly. The screws you turn to lock the boards in place should use allen(hex) head. It would make it easier to turn in the tight corners and harder to strip the head (which I stripped a couple of the screws during assembly) and an allen head would have likely fixed this issue. Otherwise the assembly was easy. A little time consuming, but what can I expect for a bed that shows up in 2 small boxes. It was easy to get done and takes very little experience to assemble. Instructions were easy to follow.
But the quality of the build was impressive. I was surprised by the overall quality of the bed and how durable it seems to be. I am very happy with the purchase. Now, I just need to have guests over to sleep on it.

Really happy with this purchase! It took some time to assemble but was pretty easy and straightforward and feels sturdy. Since the bed platform is not connected to the wall mounted case (they’re two separate pieces that lock together at the top when folded up), I was able to buy the horizontal queen bed and then turn the bed platform once it’s down to the vertical orientation and have a headboard. You can store the bed horizontally but then really place the bed wherever you want in the room when it’s down. (Also a benefit of YouLift compared to Murphy beds with springs!)

My wife ordered the bed for our guest room. The night before I watched the youtube video on how to put together a Lori Murphy bed.
As we were putting this one together (and it was very easy and straightforward) I was expecting the long complicated step of putting the suspension together (shocks etc) - then we got to step 30ish - and that was the last step. I was scratching my head - isn't there more to this?
Anyhow - it is a very simple design - two piece bed where you lift it into place - duh.
It came out great and we love it. My son who hates everything was happy and slept well on the 'you lift' mattress.

We had a little trouble with assembling the platform the bed sits on as it flipped over and disconnected. We otherwise liked it and found it manageable to assemble, it took longer than we expected from opening boxes to finishing off the mattress strap. We really liked how short it was compared to other vertical options for our space since our ceilings are a bit shorter (92”).

This opened up our barely used guest bedroom so I can use it for yoga. I built the bed myself (40 yo F). I’m pretty handy and strong but I wouldn’t suggest doing it alone unless absolutely necessary. It’s not bad in terms of difficulty, though you need to be very careful to have all the right parts and pieces in the right order. I messed up on step one and the screws wouldn’t lock into place and they are prone to being easily stripped. Otherwise it was pretty straight forward. Customer service was great, accessible and helpful. I knocked one star off for difficulty assembling and I don’t really care for the white stickers they provided for covering the screws bc they don’t cover them completely. It bugs me less and less though, as I’m not fixating on them anymore. Overall, the design is beautiful, clean and contemporary. I like that it’s functional as shelving too (as long as you have a plan for where you’ll put those items when the bed is down) and it feels more integrated into the room than other Murphy beds that look so imposing. Great value for your money and would definitely recommend!
