Do I want Vertical or Horizontal?
We offer the Lori Bed in both Vertical and Horizontal orientations, depending on your preferences and space constraints.
Vertical beds are the traditional orientation, and guests can get in and out from either side.
Horizontal beds are a good choice if your ceiling height is lower, or if you don’t want the bed to stick out as far into the room when it’s open.
Can I assemble the Lori Bed myself?
Yes, you don’t need a professional to assemble or install a Lori Bed. Each step is simple and is clearly shown in our assembly instructions and step-by-step videos. The process takes a few hours, and it helps to have a second set of hands here and there, but you don’t need any special skills or tools.
What kind of mattress do I need?
The Lori Bed works with any mattress up to 10 inches thick. We calibrated the lifting mechanism of the Lori Bed to match the weight of The Lori Mattress, which weighs about 50lbs for a Twin and 80lbs for a Queen. Your bed will work best if you choose the Lori Mattress, or one of similar weight.
How does the Lori Bed attach to the wall?
The Lori Bed must be anchored to the wall for safety, but we designed the process to be as simple as possible. Just anchor the rear mounting plate into three studs with two screws each. We supply screws for wood and metal studs. There is no need to screw into the floor or remove your baseboards, like many of our competitors.
If you have masonry or concrete walls, you’ll need to supply the proper anchors for your application. The Lori Bed cannot be mounted to drywall only.

Really impressed with how easy this was to put together and install. Sure, it takes time but I did it over the course of a few days. The instructions were very easy to follow and I was able to complete the vast majority of it by myself. The pieces are well made and you can tell this is a higher quality product than some of the cheaper murphy beds available. It is slim to the wall and very easy to put up and down! My only concern would be uninstalling and reinstalling elsewhere, but fortunately I have no plans to move it.

Our Lori bed arrived in 2 separate deliveries as I expected. Once everything arrived my husband and I got busy assembling the bed. The directions where straight forward and my very handy husband was able to do everything on his own except lift the platform into place which I was able to help do. The bed is very well made and looks great in our guest/tv/music room. I think the bed will last a ling time and I am looking forward to having a house guest. We love having a real bed for guests that doesn’t tske up space when not being used.

We needed to make our living room into a second sleeping area, and the Lori bed really delivered on quality and ease of use. It did take two of us all day to build and mount this, but it was 100% worth it. Pro-tip - get someone strong to help with the step of getting the platform mounted onto the hinging mechanism.
We've been sleeping on the Lori Bed since April and love it. The Lori Bed design, combined with IKEA Besta cabinetry we mounted around it (just about the same depth), elevates the living room space. While you can tell that there's a bed installed on the wall, it's not the focal point. We hang some art on the bed handle during the day to make the bed into a display wall.
We love a firm mattress, and the Lori Mattress was a little too soft, but we were able to get an 11" mattress to fit nicely. The customer service team was very helpful throughout the process of trying and returning the mattress.

High quality materials used on this bed. The steel hardware was much nicer than expected, especially considering the decent price.
We found the assembly instructions to be extremely well organized and easy to follow. Each package was marked and separated to match the instructions. It took two of us (husband and wife team) the better part of a day to get it completely put together and we took breaks. The horizontal design was perfect for this unique lower level room at our seaside cottage.
You can use the bed in either direction for smaller people and especially for kids. This design also allows us to put art or a mirror on the wall behind the bed, we intend to do. It’s easy to close and is relatively useful with the added shelves. No need to remove whatever you will store on the shelves. For us it will be a space for guests to put their things..
