The YouLift 2.0 Bed MUST be anchored to the wall for safety. We supply screws for wood studs and drywall. If your wall is another material like concrete or masonry, you will need to supply the necessary mounting screws.

The YouLift 2.0 Bed does not have any spring or piston lifting assistance. The platform, which holds the mattress, is connected to the cabinet with the Alignment Hinge. You lift the platform with the strength of yourself and a partner along this guide hinge, and it nests and locks into the cabinet. This allows the YouLift bed to be more affordable and easier to assemble compared to lift-assisted beds.
While some strong individuals will be able to lift and lower the YouLift 2.0 Bed by themselves, we recommend two able-bodied adults lift and lower together. The bed should not be operated by children, pregnant women, or anyone who isn’t sure about their physical ability.
Our Murphy beds and other products are usually in-stock and ready to ship within 1-2 business days. FedEx orders arrive at your doorstep, typically 3 to 7 business days after they ship. We did a lot of research before deciding on a Murphy bed for our New York apartment, and there are a lot of great options out there. After looking at so many different choices, this is ultimately what we settled on, and we’re really happy with it. I especially love that you the shelf and that the shelf also serves as the base. it also does not damage the floor to lift it up and down. It has felt.
Putting it together is not simple, but I do think two people can handle it if at least one of them is pretty handy. I highly recommend having a drill or screw gun with a screw attachment. Technically, you could probably assemble it without one, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
If you live in a pre-war apartment, there’s one more thing to keep in mind: your moldings may sit very high on the floor. Ours did, so we had to cut around them. We used a handsaw for that, and it wasn’t a huge deal, but it was something we hadn’t anticipated.
Because our walls are concrete, we also had to purchase concrete anchors to secure the bed to the wall. Again, it wasn’t a big deal, but it’s definitely something to plan for ahead of time.
Once the bed was assembled, I put on the mattress I had ordered in advance. I believe the bed can accommodate a mattress up to 80 pounds, and ours is very close to that limit. It works perfectly fine, but if I were doing it all over again, I would probably choose a lighter mattress.

The bed was a beast to put together but it’s worth it for the quality. I’ve already had two guests sleep on it and both said it was super comfortable.
