The YouLift 2.0 Bed - Queen / Horizontal

We needed a horizontal option because the ceilings in our basement are too low. The Horizontal You Lift Queen was a perfect option -- fit perfectly, tucks away nicely, and allows us to give a "real" mattress to our guests when they visit.

Worth the price. Great quality and set up was really easy using the video and instructions.

We did a lot of research before deciding on a Murphy bed for our New York apartment, and there are a lot of great options out there. After looking at so many different choices, this is ultimately what we settled on, and we’re really happy with it. I especially love that you the shelf and that the shelf also serves as the base. it also does not damage the floor to lift it up and down. It has felt.

Putting it together is not simple, but I do think two people can handle it if at least one of them is pretty handy. I highly recommend having a drill or screw gun with a screw attachment. Technically, you could probably assemble it without one, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

If you live in a pre-war apartment, there’s one more thing to keep in mind: your moldings may sit very high on the floor. Ours did, so we had to cut around them. We used a handsaw for that, and it wasn’t a huge deal, but it was something we hadn’t anticipated.

Because our walls are concrete, we also had to purchase concrete anchors to secure the bed to the wall. Again, it wasn’t a big deal, but it’s definitely something to plan for ahead of time.

Once the bed was assembled, I put on the mattress I had ordered in advance. I believe the bed can accommodate a mattress up to 80 pounds, and ours is very close to that limit. It works perfectly fine, but if I were doing it all over again, I would probably choose a lighter mattress.

That said, our guests are going to be extremely comfortable. It’s a real mattress, so it’s definitely not your typical uncomfortable pull-out bed!

Right now, this room serves as our office and is also home to our two cats’ litter boxes.

So, we’re just hoping our guests don’t mind the litter boxes! 😂

We love our LoriBed Youlift for our small second bedroom that doubles as an office. Our guests so far have said it’s great to sleep on and we love that we can put it away when it’s not in use!

The Lori Bed was a great addition to our spare bedroom. It makes the space so versatile and allows us to use the bedroom as we see fit. Our first guests described the bed as cozy and shared it was very comfortable. The hardest part was deciding on a color (and putting it together) but overall very happy with our purchase.

The bed was a beast to put together but it’s worth it for the quality. I’ve already had two guests sleep on it and both said it was super comfortable. It looks great folded up in my guest room/office and I’m so happy I bit the bullet and went with Lori Beds. The quality is there and for any bed, that’s worth its weight in gold.

I purchased the white queen size vertical bed and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The boxes arrived as planned without any damage and no shortages. The bed looks very stylish in my bedroom and I finally have my floor space back! I will definitely buy again and I highly recommend.

Spent about 4 hours assembling, I used power tools so it was much easier, be aware that this unit came in 3 boxes that each weighed about 100 lbs each, minus the mattress. I really is a two person job, but I did it alone. Also follow the instructions exactly, I didnt have a soft mallet and damaged one of the shelfs in the 2.0, and will just patch it up. Product was very well built and I would recommend it.

We received our Murphy bed today so tonight we put it together. Overall it wet well, all the parts were clearly marked and all the pieces arrived with no damage. It took about 4 hours to get it completed but the last 2 hours my hubby worked alone. All pieces were pretty heavy duty as well as the screws, bolts etc. I’m just thrilled with how it turned out.

We wanted to add a sleeping option to our pool house so we decided to add a Murphy bed. It came out great and is easy to use and super comfortable. Looks great either when it up or down!

Simply put....this bed/kit/quality EXCEEDED our expectations! My husband and I out it together in a few hours.
The instructions were perfect. (I'm not sure I've uttered those words before!!!) Pre-drilled holes were in perfect alignment. Boards straight. All materials oresent.....nothing missing! They even sent a little bag of extra parts.....just in case! We never had to call for support so I can't review the support line. In a word.....there is a reason there is 3000+ 5 start reviews! Would purchase again!

Love the quality of the bed and that it is American made. Fast delivery and it came in perfect condition. It was not complicated to put together, but you need to follow the steps in order. Give yourself plenty of time, 2 people are needed for several steps. It looks great and is a great solution for my small office.

Really happy with this purchase! It took some time to assemble but was pretty easy and straightforward and feels sturdy. Since the bed platform is not connected to the wall mounted case (they’re two separate pieces that lock together at the top when folded up), I was able to buy the horizontal queen bed and then turn the bed platform once it’s down to the vertical orientation and have a headboard. You can store the bed horizontally but then really place the bed wherever you want in the room when it’s down. (Also a benefit of YouLift compared to Murphy beds with springs!)

My wife ordered the bed for our guest room. The night before I watched the youtube video on how to put together a Lori Murphy bed.

As we were putting this one together (and it was very easy and straightforward) I was expecting the long complicated step of putting the suspension together (shocks etc) - then we got to step 30ish - and that was the last step. I was scratching my head - isn't there more to this?

Anyhow - it is a very simple design - two piece bed where you lift it into place - duh.

It came out great and we love it. My son who hates everything was happy and slept well on the 'you lift' mattress.

We had a little trouble with assembling the platform the bed sits on as it flipped over and disconnected. We otherwise liked it and found it manageable to assemble, it took longer than we expected from opening boxes to finishing off the mattress strap. We really liked how short it was compared to other vertical options for our space since our ceilings are a bit shorter (92”).

This opened up our barely used guest bedroom so I can use it for yoga. I built the bed myself (40 yo F). I’m pretty handy and strong but I wouldn’t suggest doing it alone unless absolutely necessary. It’s not bad in terms of difficulty, though you need to be very careful to have all the right parts and pieces in the right order. I messed up on step one and the screws wouldn’t lock into place and they are prone to being easily stripped. Otherwise it was pretty straight forward. Customer service was great, accessible and helpful. I knocked one star off for difficulty assembling and I don’t really care for the white stickers they provided for covering the screws bc they don’t cover them completely. It bugs me less and less though, as I’m not fixating on them anymore. Overall, the design is beautiful, clean and contemporary. I like that it’s functional as shelving too (as long as you have a plan for where you’ll put those items when the bed is down) and it feels more integrated into the room than other Murphy beds that look so imposing. Great value for your money and would definitely recommend!

We love our new Lori bed! It’s a showstopper of a piece. High quality and beautiful. Couldn’t be happier.

Love the way this looks and the quality of the product. Took some patience but built it myself over the weekend. Gave us a ton of extra space back fo the day to day but still comfortable for or visiting family and friends
